This magazine publication happened because of a Photography contest I entered in 2016 at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. My art professor at the time asked me if I had anything to enter, so I submitted this photo by itself. It ended up winning and as the prize it was to be published into the next Portraits Magazine as a double page spread. This photo was taken sometime in January of 2016 after seeing a photo on another companies instagram that had a similar feeling. I knew I could recreate the same feeling with a little work and some talented friends.
This photo was taken in the winter of 2016. This was my first time playing with steel wool in my photos. I don’t remember my intentions when I took this, but it is very eye catching!
This photo was taken in September 2018 for a photography class I was in at the time. This was a shot that I thought was very unique, but did not have a place in the project I was working on at the time. I submitted this along with a few other photos for this literary magazine. Often times my photos get put along with someone else’s writing.
This is a photo taken in Ellicottville NY looking into Holiday Valley on one of the oldest nights in 2015. I had my camera on the overlooking deck of this scene in hopes that it would make it long enough to snap a few photos.
Another steel wool photo! This was taken the same night as the last photo. we spent a few hours outside that night trying different things in front of the camera.
This photo was taken for a photography class I was in during the winter of 2017. This photo and other like it were converted into negatives and used for cyanotypes which is similar to developing film negatives just on a larger scale.
